I'm a mom, Mother Of Many, and happy to be so.
This blog is sort of going to be stream of life and thought.
These are strange times for us, half the kids are grown and on their own, I have 2 still at home, life is changing. Sometimes it changes faster than I'm ready for it to change, but I'm trying to go with the flow of life.
The challenge for this week: TWO water heaters died at the same time in our big old house. I didn't know that you have to have a permit in hand or be a licensed plumber to buy a water heater.
DH had to go downtown and pay for a permit to change out a water heater . . . and they DID give him a hard time about not hiring a plumber. I can understand wanting us to follow codes, but the law says that we can do the work ourselves on our own properties if we follow the codes.
DH always follows the codes, he's a Physicist, better at refrigeration and heating than anyone you'll find, a great plumber, and a fabulous locksmith. He can also weld and loves to build stuff. He made us a trailer to carry the mowers and things from property to property, followed all the codes. But it still took 4 trips downtown to get a stupid little license plate for the thing (not to mention about $80).
So much for starting out on a light note.
